Matthew Wintersgill's practice are currently working for ourselves on a Design & Build contract for the 4-star Blackfriars House Hotel. They have undertaken the architectural design works for all back of house areas and architectural detailing, in conjunction with our interior designer, for front of house areas.

The design works undertaken have been carried out in accordance with the Crowne Plaza Standard Specification and has involved close liaison with the end user changes incorporated with minimum disruption to the design works.

We would have no hesitation in recommending them for design works of a similar nature.

I wanted to give you feedback now that the project we have had at Nower Hill High School has reached completion.

I have nothing but praise for the lovely building you have designed and overseen the building of. It is of a very high standard and the thought that has gone into aspects of the design to make it environmentally friendly is superb. We have nothing but praise for the communication and consideration, and especially the "hands on" approach that you have had from the beginning through to the end. A big "thank you" for us. We could not be happier.

Working with a very tired Edwardian, vacant ex nursing home on multiple levels, Mr Wintersgill transformed the space into 5 large bright apartments and a superb townhouse that adding significant value to the development. Although the footprint was a tricky corner plot, all of the units ultimately benefitted from either a good sized garden or a large balcony. We ended up selling the units quickly (with multiple offers) and the sale prices exceeded our initial estimates.

I am writing to express my thanks at the prompt and imaginative way in which you have responded to our brief for alterations to the School's library (Legal Training Research Centre), teaching, catering and IT facilities.

As you are aware, we were not finally presented with the revalidation requirements of the Bar Council until mid-January, with our application due to be approved by the Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the School in early April. Something of a short timetable to say the least. However you have managed to get to grips with a complex and demanding set of requirements within this very tight schedule, with due attention to our funding processes, for which I am very grateful.

Matthew (for W&M Architects) provided excellent expertise and guidance recently during our assessment of potential development sites in Sutton Coldfield, Dudley and Dover. As the architect, he brought invaluable knowledge of the local planning context and constraints for each location, which helped us understand viability and opportunities from the start.

Matthew analysed the properties and was able to envision potential designs, which was very helpful for our evaluation. He considered important factors like parking, access, and how projects could work on site. This gave us confidence in his assessments.

Overall, Matthew was a pleasure to work with and we will continue to work with him for other initial assessments and further on once we have purchased the sites to complete construction drawings. I would not hesitate to recommend him and am grateful for his contributions to our projects thus far.
